McNealy and Bechtolsheim reminisced about the founding days of Sun while still at Stanford.
CEES Director Jerry Harris (center) helps inaugurate CEES on Tuesday. As he put it, the center is about "computer-driven science and science-driven computer design," meaning that CEES partners from industry and government will be able to learn from its work on how to improve the computational efficiencies of their own systems.
Stanford President John Hennessy (left) with CEES Director Jerry Harris said that the center "will advance scientific computing by combining both disciplines."
