For Katrina, the American Red Cross launched the largest mobilization of resources in its history for a single natural disaster. More than 200 Red Cross shelters are being set up to to provide hot meals, bottled water and distribute other much-needed relief supplies, as seen in this shot, taken during the aftermath of Hurricane Dennis. A year ago, the amphibious transport dock USS Shreveport was in a war zone. Now it's part of the U.S. Navy effort to provide relief from Katrina. Four ships will deliver six disaster-relief teams with amphibious construction equipment, medical personnel and supplies.
