AOpen is scheduled to release two versions of its Pandora desktop, which was inspired by Apple's Mac Mini.

Taiwanese computer maker AOpen says it will release its Pandora's box, inspired by Apple Computer's Mac Mini, later this year. AOpen is selling a Linux-based version for $399 or a Windows-based box for $499.

AOpen is expanding its mini-PC offerings with the Pandora. Though mini PCs have primarily caught on at business call centers and among enthusiasts who build their own machines, buyers have opened their wallets for small desktops from companies such as Shuttle and LittlePC.
