Blake Irving, a Microsoft vice president, demonstrates a forthcoming search tool known as Windows Live Local that will enable people to find nearby services using Microsoft's Virtual Earth technology.

The demo took place at Microsoft's launch of its Windows Live package on Nov. 1 in San Francisco.
