It is not clear how this works, but one suspects it involves software-based deep-packet inspection, that can then be used to access the private data.

The software gives its headquarters access to all of the captured accounts.

    Well, some very old advice works here: If you don't want anyone to see it, do not put it on the internet. EVERY IP your data goes thru (up to 30, sometimes) is a potential place to sniff out data by anyone at every one of those nodes. It isn't the police most of you should worry about.
