Here's one more tip for users of Google's Chrome browser: install the "Facebook disconnect" extension: "Facebook Disconnect blocks all traffic from third-party sites to Facebook servers, but still lets you access Facebook itself."

This is all fine and dandy, unless you clear your cookies after each session. At which point, you will have to jump through hoops each time you log in. Incredibly annoying! (also if you access a computer from a public location, such as a library)
Most people that are truly concerned about their computer's security will clear cookies.
