  • 450MB memory use!

I have installed FFox 3.0b1 on my Windows 2003 Enterprise server.
After opening only 3 tabs, my system slowed down too much. i have then opened the task manager to find out that Firefox was eating nothing less than 450MB of my 1GB ram!! could be that there is an issue with this beta and W2k3... anyway, i have unisntalled it until there is a more stable pre-release.

  • 2.0.x.x is fine here

2.0.0.9 has been open all week, currently 5 tabs open and Fedora Core 8 being downloaded. Memory usage is about 110MB of my 758MB total. I'm also running NoScript and AdBlockerPlus addons.

How much virtual memory is being used in each test. Even with 2GB, that doesn't necessarily mean that Vista isn't swapping. Just to rule it out, run the tests again and let us know.

It's about time. I also realised that when I downloaded firefox 3, it handles memory better. I think they're starting to listen to people about how firefox eats up alot of memory.
