Lojack for Laptops would be great if:
1) You paid a lot of money for a laptop and can't easily replace it or insure it
2) You never back up the data on your laptop and can't recreate it (shame on you).
3) You really feel the need to get even with the thieves

Unlike many competitors, Lojack for Laptops won't give you the precise coordinates for your device. It does give you the general area, though, and instead provides the specific location to the local police.
