      Why do you insist on starting these platform wars. We get it, you like Linux, you don't like Windows. But why post that here?
      That said, the idea that dd does the same thing just shows you to be ignorant, either of dd, or of DBAN, or, more than likely, both.
      Question: will a drive processed with the dd command above pass US military specs for data deletion? Your answer should inform your future knee-jerk need to reply.
