Linksys PVC2300
Video surveillance is quickly becoming a critical application for businesses, whatever their size, to secure and monitor after hours or show remote images of offices or parking facilities. However, poorly used or installed video surveillance systems dramatically limit the ability to recover crucial evidence during the investigation of a variety of incidents that occur at business locations. Although many businesses have installed security video systems, if the systems are not properly used, the videos yield very little useful information.

HP Compaq 6720s

We're used to reviewing business notebooks costing over £1,000, but with HP's Compaq 6720s we're definitely at the 'budget' end of the market. Part of the company’s Balanced Mobility range, the 6720s comes in three versions: we looked at the least expensive £339 (ex. VAT) GR663ET model, while the other two cost £435 (GR665ET) and £489 (GR649ET) respectively. The most obvious questions to ask about the 6720s is: what has been omitted to meet the price point, and how usable is it as a portable business workshorse?

NolaPro: The Right Tool for the Job?
For many small- to medium-size businesses, point-of-sale software is often out of reach cost-wise. There are many solutions out there, but most are either unaffordable or too complex to use. Fortunately, companies like NolaPro are creating original and affordable open-source tools to meet the needs of small to medium business POS. Is NolaPro the Right Tool for the Job? Jack Wallen finds out.

Wiebetech Drive eRazer
Most computer users have a lax attitude regarding hard disk drive disposal, leaving personally identifiable information vulnerable to anyone with a little technical knowledge and time on their hands. Knowing what's on your hard disk and how to erase it can help prevent identity theft, credit card fraud or even personal photographs and embarrassing online conversations (for example) from being discovered and exploited.
