Apple reveals iPhone 4S, new iPods (photos)

Apple showed off a significant upgrade to its iPhone by adding a faster processor, a new camera, and a cheaper price tag.

Apple's iPhone event was about the iPhone but not the iPhone 5 as had been heavily anticipated. Instead, Apple revealed a significant update to the iPhone 4 called Apple 4S. According to Larry Dignan, the most significant upgrade is the price: Now $199 for the iPhone 4S, $99 for the iPhone 4 and free for the iPhone 3GS.

Once a weak spot of iPhones, the new camera will contain new optics, produces 8-megapixel photos, and offers 1080p HD video recording.

Apple showed its iPod line a bit of love on Tuesday. First up, a Mickey Mouse watch skin (one of 16 new skins) for the iPod Nano (starting at $129).
