Apps of the Week: OneNote, CalenGoo, Nasa

ZDNet UK is now recommending an App of the Day. It seems only polite, now we have our own app, to take a deeper look at this lively area of mobile tech — and, of course, we'll do it with the needs of enterprise IT at the top of the list.

1. CalenGoo
CalenGoo is an organiser app that lets you access your Google Calendar from your phone. It features five different calendar views — day, week, month, agenda and landscape day. The calendar view is zoomable and the app lets you drag, drop and move events in your diary. CalenGoo costs around £4 for iOS and Android devices.

2. BlackBerry Travel
This handy app for BlackBerry offers flight details and weather forecasts, and helps you manage itineraries on the road. The latest version adds a world clock, currency conversion in 20 currencies, and easy car rental information.

3. OneNote
Microsoft has just made its note-taking app for iPhone available in the UK. Version 1.2 of the Office spin-off brings new search, synchronisation and sharing features. People can write notes on the handset, synchronise them to Windows Live SkyDrive cloud storage, then pick up the work on a PC or mobile device. The OneNote Mobile for iPhone update also allows people to search notebooks, sections and pages, and to 'pin' notes to the top of their Recently Viewed list. OneNote is also available, naturally enough, for Windows Phone.

4. GoToMeeting
The GoToMeeting app for iPad by Citrix is a web-conferencing tool that lets you join meetings remotely, and share presentations and reports with your colleagues online in real time. You can see who is presenting, who is talking and who else is attending, while pinch-to-zoom functionality lets you close in on meeting content.

5. Nasa App
Missing the space shuttle? You can feed your need for space-based news with Nasa's app for iPhone, iPad and now Android. The free app gives access to an array of juicy content, from images and videos to mission information, Twitter feeds, Nasa TV, ISS tracking data and featured articles.
