Gallery: HP revamps its notebook lineup

HP puts a new face on its notebook lineup. The big news is an upgrade in both AMD and Intel processors and better graphics.

Hewlett Packard announced the Envy 14 and 17, adding two more models to its existing lineup of 13- and 15-inch Envy laptops. The Macbook-like Envy 14 sports a 14.5-inch diagonal HD Radiance display that HP says is some 59 percent brighter than a standard notebook. Resolution is 1600 by 900 pixels, brightness is 350 nits and color gamut clocks in at 82 percent. It’s 5.25 lbs., and sports an Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processor.

The HP ProBook 6455b comes in 14-inch and 15.6-inch models with a choice of AMD Phenom II, Turion II, Athlon II, or V-series processors.

The 14-inch ProBook 6450b is similiar to the ProBook 6455b except it runs on Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors (including vPro technology for remote management).

This is the 15.6 version of the ProBook 6450b with an Intel processor. The two notebooks offer a choice of UMA or discrete graphics, in the form of Intel HD or ATI Mobility Radeon HD 540v graphics. Both will be available in June.

Three new models in the ProBook s series were announced - the 13.3-inch HP ProBook 4325s, 14-inch ProBook 4425s and 15.6-inch ProBook 4525s. All three models sport HD LED-backlit displays and offer a choice of AMD Phenom II, Turion II Athlon II or V-series processors. The S-series features integrated multimedia controls, clickpad gestures and the ArcSoft Total Media Suite (audio/video editing).
