Professional networking company LinkedIn had an Australian presence 12 months ago that consisted of three people: local managing director Cliff Rosenberg, a communications manager and a sales manager. Now, the company has exploded in size.

The entrance hall also comes complete with a pattern that LinkedIn Australia tells us it had designed in the style of Aboriginal artworks.

Inside the office is a suite of entertainment options to keep LinkedIn staff loose and on the ball, including what they call "The Man Cave". The Man Cave comes complete with a fully stocked bar, Xbox 360, Kinect and various other attractions.

Now that your interest has been piqued, it's probably the right time to tell you that the company is still hiring.

Each meeting room is named after one of Australia's best wine regions. The main boardroom is called the Hunter room, while other rooms include the Riesling and Margaret. Over 40 staff sit in the Sydney space at the moment and often link up with members of global teams including the main Asia-Pacific office in Singapore.

The office has a (very orange) chill-out space where staff can meet and brainstorm things that people who work in professional social networks do.

Inside the main boardroom (Hunter) is a teleconference suite that the LinkedIn Australia office uses to hold monthly meetings with its headquarters in Mountain View, California, right next door to Google.

The office also recently held a global "Pimp My Row" competition where employees were asked to decorate their cubicles to a specific theme. This row decided to go south of the border with its Mexican theme.

Another had taken a gangster theme, with a castle-themed cubicle in the background. ZDNet Australia was told that the cubicle pimping had been toned down since the competition was held. For instance, the castle's moat and drawbridge had been removed.
