Mozilla dreams up conceptual Seabird phone
Mozilla Labs' Concept Series is a fine example of crowdsourcing. Working from a bunch of concepts submitted by the Mozilla community to the project's blog, designer Billy May cooked up the Seabird smartphone.
The Seabird is designed to eradicate a few "frustrating physical interactions" involved in inputting data into a phone by tossing in motion capture and projected keyboards.
With its pico projectors, the Seabird laid flat could function as a netbook.
Plugged into a dock, the Seabird could provide a separate projected display and keyboard.
The smartphone is a concept only and does not mean that Mozilla has any plans to move into hardware, according to Concept Series' blog post.
