MWC 2017: Phones and gadgets announced so far

A round-up of the latest and greatest smartphones, tablets, and other gadgets from Mobile World Congress in Barcelona..

LG G6

LG took to the show to announce the LG G6, its next flagship smartphone. The LG G6 features a 5.7-inch display, running Android 7.0 Nougat. It features an internal central aluminum plate that extends out to an aluminum frame, but the front and back are made of glass. The LG G6 adds water proofing and wireless charging.

  • Display: 5.7 inch 18:9 2880 x 1440 pixels resolution, 564 ppi
  • Operating system: Android 7.0 Nougat
  • RAM: 4 GB LPDDR4

  • Cameras: 13 megapixel wide angle f2.4/125 degrees and 13 megapixel standard f1.8/71 degrees dual rear cameras. 5 megapixel front facing wide angle f2.2/100 degrees camera
  • Wireless technology: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 BLE, NFC
  • Water resistance: IP68 dust and water resistant rating
  • Battery: 3,300 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and wireless charging (US) technologies

BlackBerry KEYone

BlackBerry hardware partner TCL announced the BlackBerry KEYone -- a throwback to old BlackBerry's with the infamous QWERTY keyboard. The BlackBerry KEYone is a 4.5-inch handset featuring BlackBerry's DTEK security software and Android 7.1 Nougat. In 2017, the physical keyboard adds a fingerprint scanner into the space bar.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3

Samsung didn't use the world's largest mobile conference for a smartphone announcement. Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab S3, featuring an HDR-ready display and glass design.

  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 820

Samsung also announced a pair of Windows 10-powered Galaxy Books as a direct competitor to Microsoft's Surface Pro all-in-one lineup.
