Microsoft raises the curtain on its challenge to the iPod, the Zune digital media player.

Microsoft unveils its new challenger to Apple's iPod, the Zune digital media player. At its launch, the Zune will come in three colors: white, black and brown. The device will contain 30GB of storage available for music, photos or video; wireless technology; and a built-in FM tuner.
The Zune will allow users to create mobile social networks and stream music to nearby friends or strangers across the Wireless Zune-to-Zune network.

The Zune will come with a 3-inch screen that will show off music, pictures and video. Users will be able to customize the screen with with personal pictures or themes.
