The question on everyone's mind is whether Microsoft's newly-launched Windows Phone 7 operating system will deliver what the company needs to re-energise its presence in the ultracompetitive and constantly changing mobile marketplace.

Microsoft yesterday announced nine smartphones from four manufacturers that will carry the Windows Phone 7 OS - and we've got photos of the six that will be available the UK.

The Dell Venue Pro, shown above, is Dell's only offering of the bunch. Like all Windows Phone 7 handsets, it will come with a capacitive touchscreen, a 1GHz processor, and three navigation keys below.

We don't know much about the HTC 7 Mozart right now, but from what we can tell, the phone is typical HTC with rounded corners and a sleek body. The Mozart will be available in Europe on the Orange network.

Another of HTC's Windows Phone 7 devices is the Trophy. It looks similar to the Mozart, but has silver accents. Users in Europe and Asia will be able to pick up a Trophy.
