The imbX exhibition scene

Besides new technologies and product features, there was also a lot more to see at the tradeshow.

It was difficult not to notice the booth babes and mascots walking around CommunicAsia2009, while vendors used the exhibition floor as a platform to launch their new technologies and products.

Samsung's floor space at this year's convention was one of the largest. Among the vendor's exhibits was its Samsung Jet, a mobile handset that it described as "smarter than a smartphone".

Samsung's white and blue theme for its booth babes tied in with the colors of its logo.

The Omnia II featured in the background has been upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.5 with the new OS update release.

Apart from the booth babes, "booth guys" too were at hand. These guys pictured are staff from Samsung who know the gadgets best, which in this case, is the Samsung Jet.

An exhibitor that also took up a big area of the convention hall was LG. It featured the tech savvy mobile watch, the new S-class user interface phones and its new netbook series.

The LG-GD900 Crystal features the world's first transparent keypad as well as LG's new technology, Gesture Command. This technology lets the keypad--which is illuminated with a soft glow--to be used as a touchpad and also recognizes handwriting.

LG's booth babe showcases the Crystal phone. Apart from operating on the 3D S-class user interface, the phone is a dedicated multimedia player with a 8 megapixel camera.

LG's host gave visitors a run-through of the 3D S-class user interface. The interface features the "cube" mode where applications and functions in the phone are placed on a rotating cube.

Not only did LG hire booth babes, it also got mascots to spice up the event. These three mascots each represent a function or application.

The Blackberry made its presence felt with two walking mascots--the Blackberry Storm and Blackberry Curve.

Accompanied by two booth babes, the Blackberry Storm shows off its wide touchscreen.
