Spent too much on your last smartphone? DebtMinder helps paint a clearer picture of how your debt repayment progress is going, or helps you to determine a plan to get there sooner. It also works in collaboration with BillMinder to make tracking debts easier.

Question and answer collective Quora has launched an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Users are now able to read their feeds, search and add questions, check their notifications and add answers and posts like they would be able to on the website.

Optus Call Buddy

Price: Free
Platform: iOS (iPhone)

Optus has released an app that acts as a directory assistant, finding businesses specific to a user's current location. It also allows Optus customers to determine who in their phone book is another Optus customer so they can make free or discounted calls, depending on their plan. Optus customers will not be charged for any data used by the app.

Intel Desktop Boards Decoder

For the field technicians out there, Intel has released a reference guide for its Intel desktop boards. It provides users with information such as which processor each board supports, form factor, types and numbers of expansions slots, back panel connectors and more.

National Geographic Magazine — International

National Geographic has released the international version of its magazine for free for the iPad. It's locked to landscape view, but features interactive content that usually can't be accessed in the print edition.

Audible for Android

Price: Free
Platform: Android

Those with an Audible library of audio books are now supported by the company's release of its Android app. Users can download audio books from their library, keep tabs on their listening stats and access the Audible.com mobile store.

Hotmail

Price: Free
Platform: Android

An official version of Hotmail has made it to the Android market, with Microsoft and Seven Networks bringing support to the platform. The app features push notifications for email, synchronisation with users' calendars and contacts, as well as folder support. It also supports multiple Hotmail accounts.

Flickr has created its own app for the Android platform, which also allows users to take pictures with their device, upload them straight to their photo stream and share them on social media networks. The application also includes the ability to review comments and activities on photos in their stream.
