Didn't your maths teacher tell you that you needed to show how you reached a calculation? Scalar2 is a calculator that keeps track of users' calculations and lets them email them off to boot. Even if you don't need to send your numbers off for checking, sometimes it's great to remember how you worked something out.

Packing Pal

Never have that sinking feeling again on your journey that you left something behind. Designed by two full-time travellers, Packing Pal helps travellers keep track of everything they need, whether they create a list themselves or use one of the built-in catalogues of suggested packing items.

Apple Store

Now there's an app for when you're at the Apple Store. It allows you to figure out how many customers are in line, even when they've wandered off throughout the store, or when the next support opening is. You can also reserve selected products to be picked up at your local store, or list your specs and have your product shipped to you without leaving your seat.

Mind Tools is a business and personal productivity learning toolkit, which allows users to develop their leadership, team management, strategy, problem solving and other skills whenever they have a spare moment.

Sydney City Guide

Platform: Android

Whether you've landed in a new city, or are trying to discover more about your own, help isn't far away with a city guide from TripAdvisor. The app uses GPS and its built-in database of restaurants, hotels and attractions to guide users, whether they have a data connection or not. Users can also walk themselves through self-guided tours of their city and learn more with its built-in city facts. Already know all of Sydney? TripAdvisor also makes guides for other cities such as Tokyo, Los Angeles, Beijing, Paris and London.

Remote Desktop 7

On the move but need the power of your desktop? Or are you a tech that needs to check on the status of a Windows server? Remote Desktop 7 allows users to connect to the native Remote Desktop Protocol client built in to Windows without the need to install additional software. It also allows users to view multiple Windows PCs at the same time and has the ability to redirect audio from a PC to the phone.

Entertainment Book Companion

For those that have Entertainment Book vouchers, but never know when to use them, the Entertainment Book Companion should give the old paper voucher a new lease on life. It allows users to easily search for participating businesses from all editions of the Entertainment Book, as well as determine which businesses are close by. Once a location has been found, the application also allows users to call and make a booking directly from the search results, or get directions to the venue.
