Skype users who want to call their friends or work colleagues from their Windows Phone using their data allocation can now rejoice, as the Skype app for Windows Phone has now come out of beta and is available at the Windows Marketplace. Calls can be made to other Skype users, or with a fee to contacts. The app works over 3G and Wi-Fi.

Remember Read It Later, the app designed to save online stories for later offline reading? It's had an overhaul, and has been rebranded to boot. Now known as Pocket, the app has lost its $2.99 price tag, and is a lot nicer to use. The interface has been simplified and redesigned. It's faster, and it includes features such as an automatic content filter that separates videos, articles and images, and a new organisation strategy that allows you to Favourite, Tag, Archive, Delete and Bulk Edit your articles.

Is keeping track of VMware use across your organisation confusing you? This app might help. With it, you can see your VMware profile information, entitlement accounts, product licences, user permissions, support contracts and order information. You can view the information on and offline, and if the folder-based structure isn't working for you, the app lets you easily search by user or partial licence key fragment.

Tabzon helps keep you aware of where your colleagues are and what they're doing, so you can schedule meetings on the fly or organise and allocate tasks. SkyDrive is a Microsoft cloud storage service. From the SkyDrive app on your Windows Phone, you can access all SkyDrive content that you've stored with the service; delete, rename or move files; view recently used documents; and send photos and files via emails or links.

After months of talking it up, Telstra finally unveiled its first account-monitoring tool for the iPad. It's a good start for the company, providing customers with a good overview of their charges, bills and data usage while also letting them pay their bills through the app.

Encyclopaedia Britannica announced the end of an era last month — the retirement of its printed encyclopedia sets. This month, it has launched a new product: Encyclopaedia Britannica for iOS.

It's free to download, and you get limited access to the information contained therein; for full access, Encyclopaedia Britannica is asking $14.99 for a year's subscription. Versions for Android and Windows Phone are in the works, so keep your eyes peeled.
