HireVue

Price: Free
Platform: iOS (iPhone and iPad)

HireVue lets companies perform live interviews over the app, or virtual interviews where a candidate responds to pre-defined questions. The responses are then recorded and stored, to be reviewed when the hiring manager has time. Rio Tinto is one of the companies that use the HireVue service, although it would also be good for small businesses.

Quip

Platform: iOS (iPad)

Sometimes following Twitter conversations can feel like standing on your head. Quip presents Twitter conversations in a logical manner that doesn't require lots of scrolling or clicking through to find out what people are talking about. It does this by grouping tweets into conversations or allowing you to select which tweets you want the "complete" related conversation of.

BrisDroid

If you're on Android and you're struggling with public transport in Brisbane, you might want BrisDroid. It helps you know when to get off a train or a bus, by tracking where you are in comparison to stops on Google Maps. You can receive a notification when you're coming up to the stop. The app uses addresses straight from your contacts and you can save favourite locations.

Evernote Hello

Price: Free
Platform: Android, iOS (iPhone and iPad)

If you're one of those people who forgets a person as soon as you've left them, Evernote Hello might be able to help. The app, now available on Android, provides the pictures of people you've met in a photo mosaic, linked to information you've pulled into the app via your contacts, asked the person to enter or entered yourself. You can also tie the profiles to LinkedIn posts. Evernote wants to kill the business card; certainly, they won't have been the first, but perhaps this one will work.

iDocs Pro

Price: $5.49
Platform: iOS (iPhone and iPad)

Google Drive doesn't have an official iOS app, so if you want to access your Google Docs on the go, you're going to have to go with a third-party app. iDocs Pro may seem a little pricy, but it's worth it, if it you need that accessibility. You can access your Google Drive, and then create or edit documents, including DOC, PPT, XLS, PDF, RTF and MP3 formats. Not only that, you can also create and edit folders, share your documents, sync with your Google Drive in real time, access multiple accounts and save your documents for offline viewing.
