Google Search for iOS
Google has released version 2.5 of its search application for iOS, which looks like the Google Now functionality found on Android Jelly Bean.
An improved voice search is marked as the headlining feature of this update. Whether it is good enough to draw users away from Siri remains to be seen.
The travel booking company has recently updated its iOS, Android, and Windows Phone applications.
The app contains analogues of Kayak's website that allows the user to find flights, hotels, or hire a car.
For iOS users, the application now supports the iPhone 5's bigger display.
The application provides access to BigPond News, Sport, Weather, and can also track your mobile data usage. We find this app useful for its data usage and weather widgets.
Essentially a gargantuan photo book, the app has over 30,000 photos of travel and historical sites from around the world.
It is a joint project between UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the apps creator Fotonauts. Descriptions for the photos are provided by UNESCO and Wikipedia.
Users can also share the photos through email, Facebook, and Twitter.

(Image: runtastic) runtastic PushUps Pro Platform: Android Price: AU$0.99 The goal of this app is to get their users fit enough to be able to do 100 push-ups in a row. It does this through a sports science training plan, voice coach, and a push-up counter that uses either a proximity sensor or by touching the screen with your nose. It also contains other tools to keep track of your push-up workout.)
The apps allow you to turn your iPhone or iPad into a portable scanner. We have come far since the days of bulky scanners. Scanner Pro uses special algorithms to remove shadows and sharpen scanned images.
Scans can then be emailed and printed, or uploaded to third-party storage providers, such as Dropbox and Google Drive.
