One of the most widely used Web publishing platforms among small businesses, Wix, is further extending its reach into broader productivity and management tools for that audience.
After becoming a Google Apps reseller earlier this year, Wix is now creating a line called Business Management Apps. Most of the applications are complementary to Web site management or to running e-commerce sites.
Here is a summary:
- InvoiceASAP for mobile and Web invoicing
- GetTraffic (by Infolinks) for boosting the number of visitors to your site
- MightyCall Toll-Free for promoting a toll-free number on your site
- Site Booster for helping get your Web presence included in business directories and listing sites across the Internet
- GE.TT Filesharing, which lets you add downloadable files to your dashboard
- Facebook Analytics for following your Facebook activity
- Twitter App Commun.it, which improves your engagement on the social network
"With the addition of Business Management Apps, our aim is to assist [businesses] with the wider scope of running their businesses and brands by sourcing and unifying useful tools in the same dashboard where they alread manage their Web sites," said Avishai Abrahami, co-founder and CEO of Wix, in a statement about the new services.
Here's a list of all the third-party applications that are part of the new marketplace. The Wix small-business plan is $19.90 per month, but you will have to pay the pricing plans for the other apps on an ala carte basis.
Wix was founded in 2006 by Israeli brothers Avishai and Nadav Abrahimi, along with Giora Kaplan. The company's investors include Insight Venture Partners, DAG Ventures, Mangrove Capital Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners and Benchmark Capital.
