T-Mobile MyTouch (white)

7.9 7.9 10

60 Reviews | About the ZDNet Score

Though not without its merits, this most recent addition to the MyTouch family has too many things against it. No one issue was unbearable on its own, but when I add up all my qualms about it, I'd ultimately suggest another phone within its class.

The Good: The T-Mobile MyTouch is a simple starter smartphone that's compatible with T-Mobile's 4G network. It has good battery life and you can get it for nothing.

The Bad: Despite the phone's midtier specs, it lacks a camera flash. Also, the speakerphone quality was poor and the interface was a little sluggish.

The Bottom Line: Though not without its merits, this most recent addition to the MyTouch family has too many things against it. No one issue was unbearable on its own, but when I add up all my qualms about it, I'd ultimately suggest another phone within its class.

Review Summary: The HTC G2 is the successor to 2008's much ballyhooed HTC G1 (aka the "Google Phone"), the very first Android smartphone released in the United States. It's also the first T-Mobile phone built to take advantage of the carrier's new, faster HSPA+ 3.5G...

The Verdict: While HTC and Google have done well at updating the G1 handset, concerns over the reach and consistency of the T-Mobile 3G network may prevent some people from buying into the G2.

Review Summary: It might be getting on in age, but the HTC Magic is still good value. But poor battery life is a sore point.

Review Summary: Early adopters rarely have much luck when it comes to technology. Take the first iPhone, lacking 3G, or the rather ugly and bulky G1 Google phone on T-Mobile. There's a hefty price to pay to be first, but there's usually a great reward for waiting for...

The Verdict: At the time of writing, the choice of Android devices is pretty small and every single phone has been made by one manufacturer, HTC. The Magic is pretty similar to the new HTC Hero (available on Orange and T-Mobile) but has a cleaner look and feel,...
