It isn't cheap compared to standard printers, but the Canon Pixma iP100 has the highest resolution available in the mobile printer market and prints at an impressive speed to boot. If you simply must have a printer with you at all times, the iP100 should be the do-it-all at your side.

The Good: High-resolution ink nozzles produce excellent prints; significant speed improvements over previous model; retains familiar design.

The Bad: No Wi-Fi or carrying case options; lacks integrated media card reader; high price tag relative to those of desktop printers.

The Bottom Line: It isn't cheap compared to standard printers, but the Canon Pixma iP100 has the highest resolution available in the mobile printer market and prints at an impressive speed to boot. If you simply must have a printer with you at all times, the iP100 should be the do-it-all at your side.

Review Summary: It's pricey to run, but if you need something compact for the home office or for printing on the move, it's a price worth paying.

The Verdict: Despite its high running costs, and to some extent the high purchase price if you include the lithium ion battery, this is an excellent portable printer. To those that need to print away from the mains, perhaps in a car or even on-site, in the middle...

Review Summary: This mobile printer, the first of its class with 9,600 dpi resolution, delivers excellent quality and fast speeds.

The Verdict: The only reason we hesitate to recommend the iP100 is its price: At ’49, the Canon Pixma iP100 is expensive. Some all-in-ones, including Canon’s Editors’ Choice–winning Pixma MP Series, offer comparable quality and speed for less money. But if mobility...
