CNET Review
The Good: The HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus has an ample feature set that includes AirPrint and ePrint functionality as well as print, scan, copy, and fax functions, automatic duplexing, and an autodocument feeder.
The Bad: The printer is big, slow to power on and pricier than competing models, and a single 250-sheet input tray reduces its appeal for busy offices.
The Bottom Line: The HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus inkjet all-in-one offers the convenience of Web connectivity, but both business and home users will prefer the Epson WorkForce 840's reduced footprint and versatility.

Review Summary: Can an inkjet really handle small office printing duties? HP has no doubt it can, and we agree
The Verdict: A superlative scanner, great document prints, impressively low running costs and a comprehensive list of office features. Expensive, but worth it

Review Summary: The Officejet Pro 8500A Plus completes our HP Officejet trinity, following in the footsteps of the 7500A Wide Format and 6500A Plus. It brings business chic looks and savvy AIO performance to the home and small office.
The Verdict: HP delivers another rock solid business AIO in the Officejet Pro 8500A Plus. It offers a quick printing pace and quality, very decent scanning and copying, as well as added functionality in the form of ePrint and Air Print. Compared to the 6500A Plus,...

Review Summary: A printer with an App Store.
The Verdict: Alternatively, the HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A Plus also has a web server built-in and you can access that through almost any modern browser. The web server is quite rich in functionality allowing you to scan and fax documents as well as check supply levels...

Review Summary: The HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus is a multifunction inkjet printer aimed at small and medium businesses. It is able to print draft documents very quick...
The Verdict: HP's Web-enabled applications platform doesn't offer much in the way of extra value for business users at the moment, but as a medium-volume document printer the HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus is a good choice nonetheless. This inkjet multifunction...

Review Summary: This is quite a large unit that is certainly a multi function unit. My interest was the claim made with that it 'cost 50% less per page than colour lasers'. I am sure we all know normally a mono laser is far more frugal than an inkjet.
The Verdict: Scanning again can be done direct from the machine but if you want output to go to the PC it needs to be connected. An ‘everyday scan’ takes 10seconds while an excellent OCR image (using I R I S) takes only 15seconds

Review Summary: HP's top multifunction inkjet rivals low-end colour laser machines and offers both touchscreen control and remote printing via ePrint.
The Verdict: This is a fine, robust inkjet all-in-one, well up to general use in a small office. The touch panel works well and is much easier to use than equivalent physical keys. Possibly more of a gimmick is the ePrint facility, though some ‘must-have' use may...

Review Summary: Touch-sensitive controls, inexpensive inks, and a legal-size scanner raise this MFP above the competition.
The Verdict: The shiny, all-black Officejet Pro 8500a Plus might look a bit like something out of a sci-fi flick, but there's nothing alien about using it. The entire control panel, from the large, 2.4-inch color LCD to the surrounding controls (which light up only...

Review Summary: We're used to the idea of buying an inkjet printer for the home and a laser for the office, so the idea of an inkjet MFD (Multi Function Device) that is intended for office duties sounds ...
The Verdict: HP has managed to deliver an inkjet printer that makes a perfectly decent office MFD, however the Pro 8500A has its quirks. The list of features covers all the options and the running costs are pleasingly low. Having said that the speed isn't all that...

Review Summary: The HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus color inkjet multifunction printer (for printing, copying, scanning, and faxing) may look expensive at $300 (as of November 17, 2010), but you get a lot for the money. It's a comprehensive small-office machine with...
The Verdict: Touch-sensitive controls, cheap inks, and a legal-size scanner raise this MFP above the competition.
