Rimini Street, a third party enterprise software maintenance and support company, said that its sales in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) doubled in 2012 and the company had about $42 million in new bookings in the region.
The company supports SAP and Oracle software and could turn out to be disruptive to the maintenance gravy train in enterprise software. Rimini is being sued by Oracle yet has continued to land customers. Rimini executives are confident that they can win, and if they are right then other third party maintenance companies are likely to emerge.
As for EMEA, Rimini's expansion puts it on SAP's home turf. Oracle also fares well in EMEA.
By the numbers, Rimini said it has been signing several seven-figure annual deals and has more than 65 companies using it to support EMEA operations. The company has been using its global tax, legal, and regulatory updates to expand in Europe. For instance, Rimini is proving payroll and tax updates in the U.K to comply with Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
The company also updated its tax, compliance, and regulatory data for Portugal.
