Chechen news sites vanish from the web... Russian security service implicated...

Chechen separatists have accused the Russian secret service of hacking into, and removing from the web, two Chechen news services. Two sites, www.kavkaz.org and www.chechenpress.com, were both allegedly hacked in the immediate aftermath of the killing of 169 hostages and rebels holed up in a Moscow theatre by Russian troops. The alleged attack is also complicated by the fact that Kavkaz.org is registered in the US. A spokesman for the site told Reuters: "On 26 October 26 our website was attacked by a group of hackers. We are amazed Russia's special services can operate so freely on US territory." A spokesman for Russia's secret service, the FSB, hit back at the Chechen claims. "They are just lying, they have a tradition of lying, that is their ethic," he said.
