SAN FRANCISCO -- If there's one thing every company loves to do at their own conference, it's rattle off some impressive statistics.

Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff did just that when he started off his keynote address at Dreamforce '12 on Wednesday morning.

Here's a glance at the state of Salesforce.com as well as the company's 10th annual expo according to the CRM giant itself (as well as a few surveys and publications), by the numbers:

  • 90,000 registrants at Dreamforce '12 (up from 85,000 on Tuesday morning)
  • 800+ sessions at Dreamforce '12
  • 350+ partners at Dreamforce '12
  • $3 billion revenue forecast for Salesforce.com in fiscal year 2013
  • 4.5 billion social users worldwide (Sources: ComScore, Morgan Stanley, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Wikipedia)
  • 70 percent of enterprise companies have adopted social technologies (Source: 2012 McKinsey Global Institute Study)
  • $1.3 trillion in potential business value from social technologies (Source: 2012 McKinsey Global Institute Study)
  • 47 percent annual growth spending worldwide for social networking (Source: IDC)
  • 150 million conversations between businesses and customers worldwide each day (Source: Twitter, Visible Technologies)
  • 256 percent growth for social networking in the enterprise over the next three years (Source: 2012 IBM Global Chief Executive Officer survey)
  • 1 percent of equity, profit, and employee time dedicated to public charity work at Salesforce.com
  • 350,000+ hours of community service conducted by Salesforce.com employees
  • $40 million doled out in grant funding
  • Five grantees: USCF, the Exploratorium science museum, SF General Hospital, YearUp, Campaign for Hope SF
  • 16,000 non-profit organizations served by Salesforce.com
  • $10 million in grant funding dedicated to San Francisco's District 10 in the southern part of the city
  • $4 million raised for the USCF Benioff Children's Hospital ($12 million raised in the last three years)

UPDATE: This story has been corrected to reflect that the 2012 McKinsey Global Institute Study posits that there could be $1.3 trillion in potential business value from social technologies, not $1.3 billion as previously published.
