While details remain scarce about the next update to Samsung's Galaxy line, both O2 and Vodafone have revealed they will carry the handset.

O2 put out its announcement via Twitter on Tuesday, saying: "Excited about the next Samsung Galaxy? So are we — that's why it'll be coming to O2".

That follows Vodafone's statement on Monday that it will carry the smartphone and that it has set up a website where potential customers can register to get news as it comes out.

Though there has been a lot of speculation since the 3 May launch date of a Galaxy update was revealed, not much is known about the device — not even its name. Officially, Samsung has only said that it plans to unveil "the next Galaxy". However, the company has released the Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2012 app to let people watch the unveiling, and this includes a mention of 'galaxy s3' in its description on the Google Play marketplace.

And while no specs have been released about the device, a pre-order page on Amazon's German retail site has popped up listing a 'Galaxy S3'. It is described as a black smartphone running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), with a Super AMOLED 4.7-inch display.
