And for the first time, Seagate's devices come with a five-year limited warranty. Sporting a sophisticated design and unique cocoa-brown color with molten amber illumination, the Seagate FreeAgent family comprises three models: FreeAgent Pro (pictured ), FreeAgent Desktop Drive and FreeAgent Go. FreeAgent Pro encrypts content for added security, versions all content, and boasts a save-and-autobackup feature. It also includes a trial offer of 500 MB of online space--free of charge for the first six months. The recommended retail price for the standard combo module in Singapore starts at S$269 (US$175) for the 320GB version. The 320GMB dual FireWire 400 version is priced at S$299 (US$195).

Targeted at the mobile worker, the Seagate FreeAgent Go puts a computer user's desktop in the palm of his or her hands. Simply plug the FreeAgent device into any Windows computer's USB2.0 port and users can access Web favorites, passwords and settings, as well as instant messaging, e-mail, contacts and digital files. And, when unplugged, no trace of information--passwords, files or Web history--will be left on the host computer, says Seagate. Retail prices of the FreeAgent Go are S$169 (US$110) for the 80GMB version, S$219 (US$142) for 120GB and S$259 (US$168) for 160GB.

FreeAgent Desktop carries a recommended retail price tag of S$169 (US$110) for 250GB, S$219 (US$142) for 320GB, and S$299 (US$194) for 500GB.
According to Seagate, FreeAgent Desktop, Go and Pro models are compatible with Windows Vista. Mac users should note, however, that FreeAgent devices will operate with the Mac running OS X 10.3.9 or higher, but the software does not work on the Mac. This means users must reformat the drive to operate with the Mac using the Mac's Disk Utility.
FreeAgent devices are available across Asia.
