Motion Computing CL900

The vertical market-oriented Motion CL900 is quite heavy, but the trade-off is a rugged build quality that's absent from run-of-the-mill Windows 7 tablets. Lack of performance may be an issue for some potential buyers, but battery life is good and there are plenty of useful accessories on offer.

Getting the Avaya video experience

I've been getting up close and personal with Avaya's new Android-based tablet, the Avaya Desktop Video Device. Not exactly a catchy name, but important because it's the first device to run the Avaya Flare Experience which, in case you haven't heard of it, is the company's next-generation user interface for its Aura unified communications (UC) solution.

Samsung Galaxy Tab

The 7in. Galaxy Tab is a good media player, and a decent mobile email and document-creation device. However, it's expensive, and the iPad's larger screen may have more appeal for many buyers.
