Report: Microsoft sales staff get iPad buying ban

Microsoft is banning its sales and marketing employees from buying Macs and iPads with company money, according to a leaked email.The email was apparently sent by Alain Crozier, the chief financial officer of the Sales, Marketing, Services, IT and Operations Group (SMSG), a week ago.

German iPhone, iPad sales temporarily banned

Apple was forced to remove several iOS devices from sale on its German online store on Thursday as a result of its patent battles with Motorola.The iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and 3G iPads are currently not available from the company's web store in Germany following a ruling in favour of Motorola relating to FRAND-pledged patents declared essential to 3G standards.

Apple loses round in Motorola patent case

Apple has lost the first round of its quest to ban Motorola Android devices from the United States, after the US International Trade Commission found Motorola was not infringing on three Apple patents.The iPhone and iPad maker can still appeal against the ITC's initial determination but for now Motorola — in the process of being acquired by Android lead Google — is the winning side.

A regional court has temporarily banned Apple from marketing or supplying iPhones and iPads in Germany, following a suit brought about by Motorola.A Mannheim judge issued the default judgement on Friday, after Apple failed to defend itself against Motorola's claims.
