BT trials white-space broadband on Bute

BT is trialling the use of the so-called white spaces between TV broadcasts for the delivery of high-speed broadband, the company has revealed.On Tuesday, BT Openreach said it was conducting the trial on the Isle of Bute in Scotland, with partners including the University of Strathclyde, BBC Research and Development, Steepest Ascent, Berg Design and Netpropagate.

This is a good-looking 14in. ultraportable with a particularly nice display. However, the design leaves it short of space for ports and connectors, while the keyboard has too much flex for comfort.

Linux mobile reference design

Samsung has led a consortium to production of a reference design for a Linux-based broadband mobile phone. It's designed for UMTS/Edge networks and features a Samsung processor, an Infineon modem chip, and the Montavista Linux kernel.

An Australian business is being accused of copying its Web site from that of a Korean company--but it claims its site was built using free templates from the Internet.The small Australian broadband ISP Media Web has found itself in the centre of controversy after it was alleged the company had copied the design of its Web site from a Korean-based logistics company.
