Microsoft headed back to East Texas to fight another patent infringement case

On March 8, Microsoft will be back in U.S. District Court in East Texas to defend itself against another patent-infringement case. The new case is being brought by real-time communications vendor VirnetX Inc. and involves two VirnetX patents which that company claims Microsoft is using improperly in Windows XP, Vista and Windows Server, among other products.

Verdiem: One million desktops and counting for power management software

MWC 09: HTC announces Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2

The HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro were very popular devices in 2008 and to continue with these lines, HTC announced the Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 at Mobile World Congress. These two Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional devices come with more HTC customization that improves the Windows Mobile experience. HTC has added functionality that allows all voice, text, and email communications from a specific contact to be sorted and viewed at the touch of a finger. The information is available inside the contact card and during a call. The specifications of the HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC Touch Pro2 are both improved over their first generation models, particularly in regards to screen resolution.

VoIP vulnerabilities in Microsoft Communicator

Researchers at VoIPshield Labs have pinpointed a wide range of denial-of-service vulnerabilities in Microsoft Communicator, the unified communications that features business-grade instant messaging , voice, and video tools.The flaws, rated "high severity," could cripple VoIP-powered communications on Office Communications Server 2007, Office Communicator and Windows Live Messenger.
