Dell Wyse Cloud Connect is a cloud-access device on a USB stick. Road warriors need only use one of these devices combined with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to access cloud-based applications. Dell claims this is a first but not really.

Dell, others tinker with ChromeOS test builds

While mainstream users await Google's pilot program to begin, open source developers are creating builds with the latest ChromeOS code.One engineer from Dell built ISO image files that users can burn to USB to "take ChromeOS for a test drive," reports Steve Pirk, a ChromeOS enthusiast and principal at Yensid, an open source company in Bremerton, Wash.

Bluetooth USB Nano Dongle

I have a very strong preference for Bluetooth mice on my netbook and notebook systems. Unfortunately, a couple of them don't have bluetooth adapters - most significantly the HP Pavillion dv2-1010ez, which is becoming my current favorite, and one of the HP 2133 Mini-Notes.

Mobile software Monday: WMWiFiRouter turns your Windows Mobile device into a mobile hotspot

Readers have asked me about the capability of tethering your devices to laptops and other devices and I decided to post a review of a very useful utility that lets you turn your Windows Mobile device into a WiFi hotspot. Of all the mobile operating systems around, I think Windows Mobile is the easiest to use as a wired or wireless modem for your laptop and other devices. Windows Mobile 6.1 includes the Internet Sharing utility that lets you connect via cable or Bluetooth to your laptop. However, with the use of Bluetooth PAN and USB it isn't that simple to connect things like the iPod touch or Nokia N810. WMWiFiRouter lets you turn your Windows Mobile device into a wireless hotspot that makes connecting virtually any device quick and easy.
