Cisco to debut Cloud Connect in June

Cisco plans to debut in June a new product called Cloud Connect which will enable secure connectivity between virtualized data centers and across cloud environments. Cisco is working with VMware, Citrix, Red Hat, NetApp and EMC to deliver network and compute solutions for the cloud.

EMC subsidiary Iomega has launched a range of network-attached storage boxes for small and medium-sized businesses.The Iomega StorCenter PX Server Class Series have up to 36TB of storage and come with an updated version of EMC's industrial environment LifeLine software, the company announced on Thursday.

EMC pulls Hadoop into Greenplum analytics

EMC has wrapped Hadoop into its Greenplum analytics software to create a platform for analysing structured and unstructured data.The Greenplum Unified Analytics Platform (UAP), announced by EMC on Thursday and due for general availability in the first quarter of 2012, mixes the Greenplum database with Hadoop technology from MapR and a social network built for analytics.

Open SAN market grew 17.2% in Q4 2007

In the Open SAN market, which grew 17.2% YOY, EMC lead with 24.3% revenue share, followed by IBM with 17.5%. The NAS market grew 10.5% year over year, led by EMC with 41.2% revenue share and followed by Network Appliance with 28.3% share.
