What does Creative Cloud mean for desktop apps?

Adobe Creative Cloud is a way to pay for Photoshop and the rest of the Creative Suite in monthly installments. It's also a way to sync and share the files you make with Adobe tools, and there are some nice extras like live previews of files instead of unhelpful icons.

Zamzar launches free file conversion via email

The Zamzar website, which converts files between formats, has launched a new service: it will now convert files submitted by email. This could be particular useful to smartphone users who are often emailed files that their device is unable to display.

SharePoint is a runaway success, but there are plenty of alternatives that don't require you to run your own servers (or find ways of making them available to external partners).

ePals launches ePals China

I first covered ePals almost three and half years ago, highlighting the emerging safe social network and email-based collaboration tools for K12 students. Since then, we've seen them roll out a full-featured social learning platform, layer their role-based communications tools on top of Live@Edu (now Office365 for Education), and finally raise $23 million in an IPO on the Toronto Stock Exchange in August.
