IBM: Bright future for hybrid mobile apps

IDC: HPC server market sees first quarter growth

IDC says the high-performance computing market is on the up. HP and IBM continue their market leader race with 59 percent of the market, but Cray showed the most growth year-on year.

Supercomputers sell even in a recession; IBM gains

The high performance computing market took its lumps in 2009 with sales down 11.6 percent, but IBM came out with a slim market share lead when the duel with HP was done, according to research firm IDC. Why? Supercomputers---going for $500,000 and up---sell even when the economy stinks.

Global RDBMS market: Oracle - 44.3%, IBM - 21%, Microsoft - 15.8%

The worldwide relational database management systems market saw a 12.6% growth spike in 2007 to $18.8 bln compared to $16.7 bln in 2006, according to IDC. NAS storage grew 15.8% in Q4 2007

The total network disk storage market (NAS Combined with Open SAN) posted 15.8% YTY growth in Q4 2007 to more than $3.9 bln. EMC continues to maintain its leadership in the total network storage market with 27.8% revenue share, followed by IBM and HP with 15.4% and 12.5% revenue share, respectively, according to IDC.
