Nokia files suits against HTC, RIM and ViewSonic

Nokia has alleged that HTC, RIM and ViewSonic have infringed on 45 Nokia patents in lawsuits filed in the US and Germany.Nokia alleged on Wednesday that the companies have variously infringed on patents covering dual function antennas, power management and multimode radios, application stores, multitasking, navigation, conversational message display, dynamic menus, data encryption and retrieval of email attachments on a mobile device.

RIM releases BlackBerry Management Center for SMBs

RIM has announced a free online console for small businesses that want to manage BlackBerry smartphones that use non-RIM email services.BlackBerry Management Center, unveiled on Monday, differs from existing RIM products such as BES Express in that it is designed to manage handsets accessing email from the likes of Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo, rather than from RIM's servers.

Hyperlinked-headline case heads back to court

The UK Court of Appeal will on Wednesday hear arguments protesting a High Court judgement last November, which said it was illegal to email a client hyperlinks to newspaper stories without the client having a licence.Online reputation management and web monitoring firm Meltwater and the Public Relations Consultant Association (PRCA) had lost a case brought against them by the Newspaper Licensing Agency (NLA).

Increase Your Performance! No, I didn't mean it like that…

Usually whenever I get an email with a subject line that contains the term “Increase Your Performance” - I tend to file it under junk, spam and filth if it hasn´t been directed towards that route automatically. So it was only by a whisper that I managed to save a mail detailing a new performance management developer community portal from destruction and quarantine earlier this week.
