Iomega sets out small business NAS range

EMC subsidiary Iomega has launched a range of network-attached storage boxes for small and medium-sized businesses.The Iomega StorCenter PX Server Class Series have up to 36TB of storage and come with an updated version of EMC's industrial environment LifeLine software, the company announced on Thursday.

CES: Iomega TV with Boxee introduced; 1080p HD playback, up to 2TB of storage space

Iomega has teamed up with Boxee for a new digital home entertainment option that will debut at CES 2011 in Las Vegas this week.Powered by an Intel CE4100 processor for full HD 1080p playback, the Iomega TV with Boxee set-up sports the obvious (a Boxee media player for accessing Internet-based content), but also optional hard drive space for the owner's personal multimedia collection.

The demand for storage never ebbs and companies like EMC and NetApp are poised to benefit. EMC is the largest storage player in the enterprise and has key consumer assets such as Iomega and Mozy. Storage touches everything from the data center to that iPod in your pocket. A key trend: Solid state drive adoption. Other key players: Seagate, Sandisk and Western Digital.
