Back in 2000 or so I had a wonderful machine, a Vadem Clio. Actually I still have it: it was one of the first true tablet computers, a Windows CE hybrid device that let you rotate its screen into one of three positions: as an easel, as a small notebook device and as a tablet.
Dell showed off a raft of new products in London yesterday, including the Inspiron Duo netbook/tablet, an all-in-one touch screen PC, an M101z netbook, and the latest Dell Streak mobile phone. One of Dell's staff also had a Venue Pro running Windows Phone 7.
Dell showed its forthcoming Inspiron Duo Tablet at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF 2010) but it would be nice if it called it the Dell Flip, or at least the Dell Transformer. It’s a convertible -- it works either as a netbook PC or as an entertainment tablet -- but takes a different approach to swivelling the screen, as show in the video below.
Alienware M11x "gaming netbook" gains new Core i5, i7 processor options, Nvidia Optimus switchable graphics
As paradoxical as it might seem, the Alienware M11x concept was to place a gaming laptop into a netbook form factor. Dell likes to boast that the M11x is the "world’s most powerful 11-inch gaming laptop," but of course it's pretty much competing against itself for the title.
Dell on Wednesday rolled out a new batch of Latitude laptops for the enterprise: one ultraportable, two reliable standbys and one netbook.

When Dell announced on the weekend that it was discontinuing its 12-inch netbook, the Mini 12, the stated explanations were portability and the idea that "customers who buy a 12-inch system expect a little more horsepower".Oddly enough, Dell now seems set to launch a new range of Inspirons, the smallest of which has an 11.
According to uber-OEM Dell, the whole debate about Linux netbook returns is a "non-issue".

I'm in Florida visiting some family and had a flashback to the last time I was down here banging away on my brand-spankin' new Dell mini 9 netbook -- which was all the rage at the time (post 1 and 2).I purchased it with every intention to lobotomize it and install OS X as soon as humanly possible, but my travel plans dictated that I wouldn't have enough time to hackintosh it until I got back.
Dell made it official: Its first netbook, the Dell Inspiron Mini 9, is being retired. In a blog post, Dell noted that the Mini 9 was a successful product, a "modders dream" and was a fine first effort.
Dell has stopped selling 8.9-inch netbooks, focusing instead on netbooks with screen sizes of 12 inches and above.

It's here!Exactly one month ago I wrote about The $200 'Mac' -- a new all-black, business-oriented version of the eminently-hackable Dell Mini 9 netbook called the Vostro A90.
The rubberised Latitude 2100 is Dell's first foray into the educational netbook market, and the manufacturer's first netbook not to fall under the Inspiron brand
Dell today announced its Latitude 2100, a netbook designed specifically for school children. It is also the first Dell product in Australia to offer the Ubuntu operating system.
While nothing seems to have made its way to the Dell K-12 store in terms of their new Latitude 2100 netbooks, there are plenty of details floating about online. A few new bits of information have emerged since I mentioned this education-oriented netbook a while back, but I'm afraid the most important is its starting price: $369.
