Sky torpedoes Pirate Bay access

Virgin Media kicks off Pirate Bay blockade

Virgin Media has begun blocking The Pirate Bay, a notorious file-sharing website, days after the High Court ordered ISPs to do so.The High Court said on Monday that Virgin, Sky, Everything Everywhere, TalkTalk and O2 would have to stop their customers from accessing The Pirate Bay (TPB) because it illegally provided access to copyright material.

UK ISPs ordered to block Pirate Bay website

Five of the UK's largest internet service providers have been ordered to prevent their subscribers from accessing the file-sharing website The Pirate Bay.The High Court said on Monday that Sky, Everything Everywhere, TalkTalk, O2 and Virgin Media would have to block access to The Pirate Bay (TPB), following an earlier ruling in February over the role of the site in copyright infringement.

TalkTalk forced to block Newzbin2

Internet service provider TalkTalk has joined the likes of BT and Sky in blocking the Usenet aggregator Newzbin2.The company confirmed on Tuesday that it had been forced to begin the blocking process following receipt of a court order in January.
