Changes at the MPSA

One of the organizations Doc keeps his eye on is the Managed Print Services Association (MPSA). Now it seems that key volunteers and leaders within the Managed Print Services Association executive committee and board of directors have realigned their roles to focus their experience on other areas of the MPSA. The group hopes this will help keep fresh ideas and new perspectives flowing across all aspects of the association.

Cortado has formed an alliance of printer and networking equipment manufacturers to broaden the number of devices that support its mobile cloud-based printing technology.Inaugural members of the Cloud Printing Alliance include Brother, Dell, Funkwerk, Konica Minolta, Kyocera Mita and OKI, Cortado, subsidiary of ThinPrint AG, announced at CeBIt on Tuesday.

Insects using plants as phones

A team of Dutch ecologists has found that subterranean and aboveground herbivorous insects use plants to communicate. 'Subterranean insects issue chemical warning signals via the leaves of the plant. This way, aboveground insects are alerted that the plant is already occupied.'
