Google has upgraded its Maps service to include live information about disruptions to the London Underground network in order to try and help the 31 million expected visitors to the city avoid trouble spots and delays in the capital during the Olympics this summer.

Wi-Fi on the Tube on track for 120 stations

Transport for London is nearing the end of its tender process for deploying Wi-Fi to a network of underground tube stations.The scheme is scheduled to be ready and active ahead of the beginning of the Olympics in summer 2012 and will include 120 locations.

Organisers of the 2012 London Olympics are testing BT's cloud-based voice network for the event, the telco said on Wednesday.BT said it has delivered the network, based on Cisco hosted unified communications technology, to connect 25 Olympic venues.
