This suggests the method does work for that device, but that may not be the case for future nano-SIM phones as the new card is thinner than its predecessors.

Operator begins taking iPhone 5 pre-orders

T-Mobile's parent group, Deutsche Telekom, has started taking pre-orders in Germany for the next generation of iPhone.The network is the first to begin taking orders for what is being referred to as the iPhone 5, but it is only doing so in its retail stores for people who specifically request the successor to the iPhone 4, a Deutsche Telekom spokesman told Bloomberg on Monday.
