Apple granted 'iTime' patent

Apple has secured a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a device referred to as 'iTime', revealing some of the features that may be included in the company’s highly anticipated watch device.

Windows isn't the only OS that cares about pens

But it might be the only OS with the patent to do pens the right way…One of the highlights of Adobe's MAX developer conference this year was Photoshop Touch; a tablet application, initially for Android but coming soon for iPad, that's a real application with powerful features. Equally interesting was the device Adobe was demonstrating it on - a prototype Samsung Galaxy Tab with the kind of pressure-sensitive Wacom pen that's been in Tablet PCs for years.

iPhone-like iPod: Evidence mounts

A new release of Apple patent filings dealing with Wi-Fi, wide-screen displays and touchscreen controls indicates new features in the next generation iPod could look similar to the iPhone.This week, several new patents filed by Apple were released on the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Web site.

Tiny Trek takes on sumo Sony

Trek Technology, a maker of thumb-sized storage devices, has fired off a warning letter to Japanese electronics maker Sony over alleged patent infringement. ThumbDrive is a portable, removable storage drive with Universal Serial Bus (USB) connectivity. Since its debut more than two years ago, the device has been licensed by multinational firms such as IBM and Sonnet Technologies, a Macintosh processor upgrade provider. Sony sells a competing product called Micro Vault, which touts similar features as the ThumbDrive.
