Dell launches cloud printing app for Android

Dell has released an Android app that lets users print to network-connected Dell printers, giving the manufacturer a rival to similar cloud-based services from the likes of HP.The company announced the Dell Mobile Print app on Thursday, explaining that it can print directly from other productivity, email, browser, photo and PDF apps.

Xerox unveils remote printing tools

Xerox has announced new tools for those who want to print documents from their mobile phones or other email-enabled devices.The company's Mobile Print Solution (XMPS), which will become generally available in early 2011, will let people securely email their files, such as Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF files, to their firm's private server, from which XMPS will send a confirmation code back to the user.

Documents To Go for Android adds PDF and PowerPoint support

Just three months ago I posted my full review of Documents To Go for the Google Android platform and was very excited by the advanced features that DataViz was able to pack into this mobile application. I am very pleased to say that the version 2 I have been using over the last week continues to push the limits and IMHO brings the BEST mobile Office suite I have ever seen on a mobile device. I won't go back over all the Word and Excel features I covered in my last review, but will focus on the new PowerPoint and PDF support as well as other major improvements.

Microsoft patches 31 Windows, IE, Office security holes

Microsoft's batch of patches this month is a big one: 10 bulletins covering a total of 31 documented vulnerabilities affecting the Windows OS, the Internet Explorer browser and the Microsoft Office productivity suite (Word, Works and Excel).Five of the 10 bulletins are rated "critical," Microsoft's highest severity rating.

Skyfire 1.0 rolls out for WM and Symbian, rocks on the E71x

Skyfire is a proxy-based web browser that runs on millions of mobile phones around the world. The browser has been in beta for some time and I have tested it out on Windows Mobile and S60 devices in the past. I was pleased to see them announce version 1.0 (PDF press release) today for immediate availability and download. Skyfire supports Flash 10, Silverlight 2, Ajax, Javascript, and more. The browser has integrated Facebook and Twitter feeds on the Start Page too and lets you share and publish any web page to Facebook and Twitter with a single click.
